Chinese Chess

 It is played on a board with nine columns and ten rows, using pieces with Chinese characters that represent an army in a battle-like setting. The game has unique pieces, a special "river" in the middle of the board, and a "palace" area for the generals, which makes it different from traditional Western chess.
